Reading
*Reading and writing words with:
short vowels (cat, sit, hen)
digraphs- sh, th, wh, ch, ph (shop, chip, thing)
consonant blends (sled, truck, grass, snack)
*Review sight word lists that have been sent home.
*Reread homework books that have been sent home (This will improve fluency.)
*Play a rhyming game (Pick a word and your partner has to come up with a word that rhymes with it.
*Read to your child and with your child!!!! Read Read Read!
Writing
*Write a thank you note to someone.
*Write about what you did over break – Remember capitals and periods.
*Write sentences using your sight words.
Math
*Counting by 1’s, 2’s, 5’s, and 10’s to 100
*Tallies – Draw the tallies to go with a number
*Addition – basic addition facts and doubles (1+1, 4+4)
*Money – Identifying the names and values of different coins and counting different combinations of coins.
*Time – Telling time to the hour and half hour.
Have fun and spend some quality time with your family!
